Rare is the child who has not read at least one Dr. Seuss book. And rare is the adult who does not recall the first Dr. Seuss book he truly fell in love with. Through his quirky illustrations and unique writing style, Theodor Geisel – known around the world as Dr. Seuss – made reading fun for children! And to make your reading of Seussian rhymes even more memorable, his zany cast of characters are ready to leap off the pages into oh the parties you will throw!
Today was good and today was fun for Alora as she celebrated her first birthday in Dr. Seuss style. Her mom got her hooked on reading at just a few months of age and her absolute favorite are books written by Dr. Seuss! Whenever her mom reads to her, she is beaming with happy eyes and cuddling up to her! With this in mind, Balloon People turned the setting into a mini Seussville stuffed full of characters and elements from the bestselling books – The Lorax, The Cat in The Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, Fox in Socks, and a lot more! The color palette of each story was also combined – creating the spiffy perfect color scheme for the bash! Time to rhyme! Check out all the details captured by Joel and Ma-anne Garcia of JHG Photography and see how everything in this bash rhymed – visually!
This Dr. Seuss book created a unique party invitation! Yes, a book! The covers and pages were customized to display party details and featured characters such as the Cat, Thing One and Thing Two, and Sam-I-Am. What a good and brilliant start – wink!
The Truffula trees just strolled in with the breeze! They beautifully popped up at the entrance and exuded a warm welcome! They also enhanced the atmosphere as guests made their way to the reception desk which was stunningly decorated with teal table skirt and flower yarn balls. The guest book was also stationed here plus some cutesy photographs that got everyone chatting and mingling at the entryway. Oh that guest book was just totally perfect with a Happy Birthday to You book cover!
Alora officially welcomes you to Seussville! The stage backdrop featured our favorite Dr. Seuss characters – Horton, the Cat, Thing One and Thing Two, the Grinch, the Fox, the Lorax, and the two very glad fish. The letter standees had a hint of the Cat and his iconic hat because of the stripes – and that also created a striking display! With all these elements mingling on the stage, you can have an instant photo booth!
Look at this setting! Look at this setting now! The groundscape looked festive with all those tables dressed up with red and blue linens. The ceiling on the other hand created a playful and sparkling sky with those balloons, draperies, and chandeliers paired perfectly with some Dr. Seuss hanging decorations. The huge glass windows increased the sense of space and provided the natural daylight. The stylish and dark print of the wall also did the trick!
The place settings both for kids and adults worked around a red and blue theme. For a look that is clearly Seussville, tables were centered with tiny buckets and top hats filled with balloons, stick puppets, and DIY Truffula trees. Kiddie tables were stocked with striped plates and straws, and cutleries wrapped with dotted napkins and ribbons for a fancy feast. Balloon People also wandered off the traditional numbers and named the kiddie tables with alphabet flash cards! I love this idea! The adults too enjoyed their meal with a cute flower arrangement incorporated with table numbers.
From the table cover to the spread, stripes were everywhere in the sweet station! The dessert table was adorned with an awesome Happy Birthday front banner and held small treats that looked much better than green eggs and ham! There were decorated sugar cookies, candies, mini cupcakes, popcorn, and a lot more! The dessert table was anchored with a two-tier cake crowned with the iconic hat and topped off with a pink cupcake. Whew! That is layer upon layer of sweetness!
Along with the sweets, Alora offered her guests some refreshments, jello shots, and fish and chips.
This craft table was a key part of the birthday party fun! Kids enjoyed making their own suitcases and purse bags, and decorating tags on cans!
The magic show and ventriloquism by Bobi Gonzales were the magic bullet for creating a lively audience.
Kids were equally thrilled with the games and these prizes!
Alora spread smiles with something fun for everyone – loot cans full of goodies!
Aw, honey! The Cat in the Hat never looked cuter! I want to squeeze my monitor!
Yet another adorable photo! So nice to see an entire family dressed up as Dr. Seuss characters!
